JAMMU, May 25: The closing ceremony of the Senior Open Swimming Championship, Jammu & Kashmir UT, was held today at Jodhamal Public School Swimming Complex. The event was graced by chief guest Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services & Sports.
Jagbir Singh Soodan, former President of the J&K Swimming Association, attended as guest of honour. The event saw participation from seventy swimmers (men and women) competing across twenty events. Top performers included Rudraksh Gupta, Musa Parvaiz Malik (men) and Vamika Parmar (women), who were declared best swimmers.
The chief guest distributed prizes and certificates to swimmers, coaches, technical staff and organizing members. Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee; Amita Arora, Vice-Principal; Neetu Johri, Headmistress and Pooja, Competition Director, were acknowledged for their support. Ramandeep Singh Soodan (President), Bharat Kumar Sharma (General Secretary) and Babita Rani (Joint Secretary) of the J&K Swimming Association presented mementoes to the dignitaries.
Sharma announced that the Jammu Stadium Swimming Pool will soon be ready for training and wished the swimmers success at the 78th Senior National Aquatic Championships 2025, to be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from June 22-26.
