*Jammu defeats Udhampur in Taekwondo’s inaugural tie

JAMMU, Aug 29: Inter School, District and Divisional Level Competitions in various disciplines, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter District Division Level Competition in the discipline of cricket for under-19 boys gets underway, here today.
In the first match at GGM Science College ground, Samba beat Kishtwar by 19 runs. Batting first, Samba scored 85 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 15 overs. Chandan, Devinder and Vishal scored 25, 16 and 11 runs respectively.
From Kishtwar side, Rashid and Umer scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, Kishtwar failed to chase the target and bundled out at 66 runs by losing all wickets in 13.2 overs. Ajay scored 11 runs, while Owais and Sohail made 10 runs each.
From Samba side, Vishal and Nikhil took 2 wickets each.
In the second match at GGM Science College ground, Reasi smashed Kathua by 24 runs. Batting first, Reasi scored 73 runs for all out in 14.2 overs. Kapil made 12 runs, while Pardeep and Sahil scored 10 runs each.
From Kathua side, Abhinand scalped 4 wickets and Raj Kumar took 3 wickets.
In reply, Kathua collapsed at 49 runs for all out in 12.3 overs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 18 runs.
From Reasi side, Rajesh scalped 3 wickets, while, Pardeep, Dinesh and Surjeet took 2 wickets each.
In the third match, Poonch defeated Ramban by 47 runs. Batting first, Poonch made 119 runs by losing all wickets, Rustam and Mustaq scored 23 and 16 runs respectively.
In the second inning, Ramban failed to chase the target and bundled out at 72 runs by losing all wickets. Vijay and Irfan scored 18 and 10 runs respectively.
In the fourth match, Udhampur got walk over against Rajouri and qualified for the next round.
MIRAN SAHIB: Inter School Tournament of Miran Sahib and RS Pura Zone for under-19 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball was held at Government High School, Kotli Shah Doula.
In Kabaddi, GBHSS RS Pura thrashed Stephens International School Tindaykalan by 9 and GHSS Chakrohi trounded GHSS Sai by 9 points, whereas in Kho-Kho, GBHSS RS Pura defeated GHSS Chakrohi by 3 points and GBHSS RS Pura crushed GHSS Dablehar by 6 points.
In Volleyball, GBHSS RS Pura thrashed GHSS Dablehar by 9 points.
BISHNAH: Inter School Competitions in the discipline of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for under-19 boys was held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, here. In Volleyball final, GHSS Allah smashed GHSS Arnia by 2-0 sets, whereas in Kabaddi final, GHSS Rehal beat GHSS Bishnah by 19-18 points. In Kho-Kho, GHSS Bishnah defeated GHSS Allah by 10 points.
KISHTWAR: Inter District Divisional Level Tournament in the discipline of Taekwondo and Yoga started at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, here. In the inaugural tie of Taekwondo, Jammu defeated Udhampur.
