Sainik School Nagrota celebrates Navy Day

JAMMU, Dec 4: Sainik School Nagrota celebrated Navy Day 2025 with a week-long series of events honouring the bravery, professionalism and maritime legacy of the Indian Navy.
The celebrations began on November 30 with a Cycling Trek to Katal Batal, led by the Principal, officers, staff and Girl Cadets. Junior Cadets participated in an Inter-House Naval Quiz, followed by a Special Assembly on India’s maritime history and a themed Basketball Match commemorating Operation Trident of 1971.
Today, Navy Day was observed with a wreath laying ceremony at the Shourya Smarak to pay homage to fallen heroes. The event also featured a hornpipe dance by girl cadets and a precise band display.
As part of a green initiative, the school conducted a Swastik Model Plantation Drive, planting 5,000 saplings across the campus. Addressing the cadets, Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, urged them to consider careers in the Indian Navy. The celebrations concluded with reflecting the school’s focus on discipline, service and patriotic values.
