JAMMU, Oct 9: Sainik School Nagrota inaugurated its Annual Athletic Meet 2025 with a grand ceremony at Major Somnath Sharma PVC Mini Stadium. Squadron Leader Praveen Kumar, Officiating Principal and Administrative Officer, presided as chief guest.
The event began with an impressive march past by cadet houses, followed by the administration of the sportsmanship oath by the School Sports Captain. A torch relay symbolized the spirit of athletics and fair play.
In his address, the chief guest praised the cadets’ enthusiasm and highlighted the role of sports in developing leadership, discipline and resilience. He encouraged healthy competition and true sportsmanship. Opening day events included 400m hurdles, 800m, 3000m, 5000m races, 4x400m relay, long jump, high jump, and shot put. The meet was officially declared open to loud cheers.
