SAI organises ‘Sunday Cycling’ programme

JAMMU, Apr 13: As part of the FIT INDIA initiative by the Union Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre Jammu, in collaboration with the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of New JDA Flats, Muthi, organized a ‘Sunday Cycling’ event on the outskirts of Jammu city.
Wing Commander Nirmal Singh, Secretary of the RWA, led the cycling event, which saw enthusiastic participation from families, children, SAI athletes, coaches and staff. The event aimed to spread awareness about the importance of a healthy, disease-free, and obesity-free lifestyle, especially among individuals with sedentary routines.
Aman Sharma, High Performance Director of SAI and Incharge of STC Jammu, highlighted the goal of encouraging fitness and community participation through such initiatives. He also extended gratitude to the RWA for their support and collaboration.
Wing Commander Nirmal Singh appreciated SAI’s initiative and expressed hope for more such events in the future to inspire the local community to embrace active living. Over 55 cyclists, including athletes, coaches and residents, participated with great zeal, making the event a lively and impactful step toward a healthier India.
