Sai Cricket Club seals berth in semis

JAMMU, Nov 27: Scri-pting a convincing win by 8 wickets over Whites Cricket Club (WCC), Srinagar, Sai Cricket Club (SCC) Jammu sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing AIKS Alcobrew Cricket League, being organized by All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police Department at Parade and Jammu University grounds, here today.
Earlier, WCC Srinagar won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, WCC scored a modest total of of 119 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets in the process. Amit Koul played a brilliant innings of 76 runs, studded with 11 fours and 2 sixes. For Sai CC, Amit scalped 4 important wickets, while Rahul claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Sai Club scored the required runs in 16.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Vinod top scored with 79 runs with 13 boundaries and one six, while Virender contributed 14 runs to the total. For WCC, Dilip and Amit Koul took one wicket each. Vinod of Sai CC was adjudged as man of the match for his splendid knock.
In another match at the University ground, Fighters XI got better of Sangarmal XI by 4 wickets.
Put into bat, Sangarmal Club scored a good total of 169 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sidharth, Sagar, Vinod and Ankur contributed 36, 30 and 27 and 23 runs respectively. Raju and Nikhil took 2 wickets each for Fighters XI.
In reply, Fighters XI chased the big total in 18.4 overs by losing 6 wickets and won the match by 4 wickets. Rahul top scored with unbeaten 71 runs including 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Surinder contributed 58 runs with the help of 9 fours and one six. For Sangarmal Club, Sahil, Vinod and Sandeep took one wicket each. Rahul was declared as man of the match.
Meanwhile, at Parade ground, Pamposh Cricket Club thrashed Sharika Cricket Club by 87 runs. Pamposh Club, while batting first scored a big total of 171 runs. Rajat top scored with 70 runs, while Rahul and Rockey contributed 19 and 14 runs to the total respectively. Ramesh took 4 wickets for Sharika cc, while Arun bagged 2 and Anil one.
In reply, Sharika CC, bundled out for paltry total of 84 runs, thus lost the match by  87 runs. Virender scored 14 runs, while Anil Bhat and Anil chipped in with 13 runs each. For Pamposh Club, Rahul took 5 wickets, while Rajesh and Sunny Bhan claimed one wicket each. Rahul was declared as man of the match for his superb all-round show.
