Safran Cricket Club clinches Republic Day Cup

JAMMU, Jan 27: Safran Cricket Club delivered a dominating all-round performance to lift the Republic Day Cup 2026, defeating Firdous Construction CC by 99 runs at the K2 Cricket Ground, Jammu.
After winning the toss, Safran elected to bat and posted 163/7 in 20 overs, led by Rohit Thakur’s unbeaten 31. Chandan Manhas (25) and Akash Thakur (25 not out) contributed crucial runs in the middle and death overs, while Sukhiee, Sarthak Khoda and Sonu Zutshi provided additional support.
In reply, Firdous CC struggled against Safran’s disciplined bowling, being bowled out for 64 in 15 overs. Parma claimed 3/9, skipper Sarthak Khoda 3/14 and Arun Zalpuri 2/14, with Rohit Thakur also taking a wicket.
Sarthak Khoda was declared as Man of the Match, as Safran’s emphatic win highlighted their strength in both batting and bowling. The tournament concluded with Safran Cricket Club crowned champions, celebrating the spirit of cricket and national pride.
