‘Run for Peace & Innovation’ to begin today

JAMMU, June 28: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jammu Chapter, has announced the eagerly awaited ICC Jammu 10K Run, scheduled to begin tomorrow under the inspiring theme “Run for Peace & Innovation.”
Rahul Sahai, Chairman, ICC Jammu, stated, “This run is more than a sporting event—it’s a movement to position Jammu as a centre for peace, wellness, innovation, IT, and startups.” He thanked dignitaries and changemakers for supporting the initiative.
Sports Minister Satish Sharma will flag off the run. Guests of honour including Maj Gen Mukesh Bhanwala, GOC 26 Infantry Division, Devansh Yadav, Municipal Commissioner Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Sports J&K, Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Debmalya Banerjee, Regional Director, ICC, Prof. Omesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Kiran Radurappa, CEO, Posspole, Bangalore, Vikas Gupta, Director, Tourism Jammu, Ajaz Qaiser, Director, Tourism and MM Madhavan, Director, Narayana Hospital
The event will start at the Jammu University Sports Complex (Back Gate), with reporting at 4:30 am. A Zumba session will energize participants before the 10K run at 5:30 AM and 5K run at 5:45 AM. The prize distribution will follow at 7:00 am. Over 400 runners, including students, professionals, and innovators are expected to take part.
Kiran Radurappa shared startup mentorship plans, while ICC Regional Director Debmalya Banerjee emphasized the Chamber’s centenary year and its developmental focus on J&K. Sahai concluded by urging the media and public to support this transformative initiative.
