JAMMU, Sept 11: Bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir, Rudraksh Khanna, an international-level Aerobics gymnast, secured a bronze medal at the National Aerobics Gymnastics Championship held in Kochi, Kerala, despite competing while battling a 102° fever.
Rudraksh was part of the J&K team comprising Somay, Sadya, Manya, Ragya and Rivka, accompanied by coaches Mitalli and Kurpali and team manager Ravinder Singh. Their participation reflected the growing talent in gymnastics emerging from the Union Territory.
The team was selected by the Screening Committee headed by Satpal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (JKSC). Their performance at the national level has been widely appreciated by the sports community.
Er. Kiran Watal, President of the Gymnastics Association of J&K and Vice President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, congratulated Rudraksh on his remarkable achievement. He also commended the efforts of the J&K Sports Council in nurturing young talent and providing them with the platform to shine at national and international levels.
