JAMMU, Jan 5: High-voltage action marked the semi-final stage of the Jammu Kashmir Premier League (BIG JKPL) 2025-26, as Royal Goodwill Cricket Club and Valley Stars Ganderbal registered emphatic victories to book their places in the grand final at the University of Jammu Ground. A large crowd of cricket enthusiasts thronged the venue, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the day.
In the first semi-final, Royal Goodwill CC edged past Sultan Warriors Baramulla by 11 runs in a nail-biting contest. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Royal Goodwill struggled against disciplined bowling, being bowled out for 104 in 18.2 overs. Imtiyaz Lefty played a crucial innings, scoring 45 off 38 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Defending the modest total, Royal Goodwill’s bowlers excelled, with Gowher Leggy taking 3/16 and earning the Player of the Match award. He was well supported by Rithik Singh (2/18), Rouf Bashir (2/9) and Jehangir Lone (2/10). Sultan Warriors were restricted to 93 in 18.5 overs, with Asim Bashir (20) and Arjun Singh (16) offering brief resistance.
In the second semi-final, Valley Stars Ganderbal outclassed Tiles and Bath Cricket Club. Batting first, Valley Stars posted 129/9, anchored by skipper Nadeem Dar (46) and Danish Muzaffar (34). In reply, Tiles and Bath CC collapsed for 67 in 12.1 overs, with Samar (4/17) and Bhagmender Lather (3/18) dismantling the batting line-up. Bhagmender Lather was adjudged Man of the Match.
With both finalists decided, the BIG JKPL 2025-26 promises an exciting and thrilling finale for cricket fans across the region.
