Rotary Club of Jammu City observes Annapurna Day with destitute children

JAMMU, July 2: Rotary Club of Jammu City observed Annapurna Day at Balgran, Chhanni Rama, a charitable home for destitute children, here today.
Food and snacks were served to all the inmates of Balgran by the office bearers and the members of the Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Anil Swaraj, the President of the Club for the year 2017-18 said that the Club wanted to begin the new Rotary year (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018) by serving the most deserving section of the society for which the Rotary Club of Jammu City has dedicated itself.
The gathering was informed that for more than 110 years, guiding principles of Rotary have been service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership.
It was further informed that Rotary members believe that they have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues.
It was said that 35,000+ Rotary Clubs worldwide work together to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, save mothers and children, support education and grow local economies.
The Rotarians present on the occasion expressed great satisfaction over the functioning of Balgran and expressed their resolve to support the institution in future also.
