KATHUA, Apr 17: Three wickets haul by Rompy guided PTS Kathua to register 25 runs victory over engineers XI and get berth in the semifinal of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Tawi Organizing Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police at Sports Stadium, here today.
Batting first, after wining the toss, PTS Kathua scored 144 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Yasir was the top scorer with 38 runs, while Mukesh, Pankaj, Rompy and Ramesh Bhat contributed 23, 21, 17 and 14 runs respectively.
For Engineers XI side, Vinod was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 20 runs in his 4 overs spell, while Amitabh also scalped 2 wickets.
While batting, Engineers XI failed to chase the target and bundled out at 119 runs for all out in allotted 20 overs. Amitabh chipped n 27 runs including three boundaries, while Sahil made 18 runs with the help of one lofty six.
For PTS Kathua side, Rompy was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Ramesh Bhat and Yasir claimed 2 wickets each.
Rompy of PTS Kathua was declared as man of the match and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 500 and a trophy by Rattan Bharti, Vice President, Tawi Organizing Committee.
