JAMMU, Apr 6: RM College of Education, Chowadhi, Sainik Colony organized a national seminar on “Knowledge without Character is a deadly Sin”.
During inaugural session, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Medical Education and Sports was the chief guest, while, Prof Mubarak Singh, HoD, Department of Education, University of Jammu presided over the function.
Dr Rajive Ratan, Department of Education, University of Jammu presented the keynote address while Prof Arbind Kumar Jha, Dean School of education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh delivered inaugural address.
Chairman of the College Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Principal of the College PK Dhar, Principals and faculty members of other colleges, and students were also present.
Taj Mohi-ud-Din said that eucation is a major instrument which transforms the society.
Prof Mubarak Singh said that we need to provide education to students which are based on moral values and character building.
College News letter “BAGISHA” was also released by dignitaries on the occasion.
More than forty delegates across the country participated in the seminar. About 45 papers and case studies were presented during the sessions.
Meanwhile, during valedictory function, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture was the chief guest, while Prof IA Hamal, Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, was the guest of honour and KK Bhat, Director, IGNOU Jammu presided over the function.
Raman Bhalla and other dignitaries gave away the certificates among the participants who presented papers in the seminar.
College students and Navdurga Kala Manch presented a colorful cultural programme.
The proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by RS Moza and the function concluded with a vote of thanks by ID Soni, State commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides.
