KARGIL, June 7: Real Lona Baroo crushed S TV Ladakh by 1-0 and clinched 1st District Street Football Trophy at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament was organized by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Kargil in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil (NYK) Ladakh.
Sajjad Hussain was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
On the valecictory function, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, LAHDC Kargil Aga Thoha was the chief guest, while Xen REW Gulzar Hussain Munshi was the guest of honour. District President BJYM, Mohammad Hassan Pasha was also present.
Aga Toha said that such tournaments bridges the gap between the people from different regions of the district and helps in building the sportsman spirit among the players.
Gulzar Hussain Munshi said that sports is the key to build communal harmony in a society and helps in searching talents for State and national level events.
Later, the guests distributed prizes among the winner and runner-up teams.
While speaking, Mohammad Hassan Pasha informed that the tournament started from May 2 in which around 20 teams from all over Kargil participated.
