RCC, KCC register wins, advance to next round

KATHUA, Apr 9: Rainwari Cricket Club (RCC) and Kashmir Cricket Club (KCC) registered victories in their respective matches and advanced to the next round of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Tawi Organising Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at Sports stadium here.
In the first match, Rainwari Cricket Club (RCC) registered a huge 71 runs victory over Khairian Cricket Club and registered birth in the next round of the tourney.
Batting first, after winning the toss, RCC scored 163 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Amrit Pal Singh played well and chipped in 41 runs including six balls towards the fence, while Satish also contributed 38 runs with the help of four boundaries and one lofty six.
For Khairian Club side, Bhushan scalped 2 wickets, while Girdhari took one wicket.
While batting, Khairian Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at 92 runs for all out in 17 overs. Suresh chipped in 17 runs, while Ajay scored 14 runs including two boundaries.
For Rainwari Club side, Kuldeep was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Narinder and Satish took 2 wickets each.
Satish of RCC was declared as man of the match for his all round performance and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 500 and a trophy.
In the second match, Kashmir Cricket Club (KCC) thrashed Mayank Goswani Cricket Academy (MGCA) by just 8 runs in the nail biting match.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Kashmir Club set a target of 141 runs in front of its opponent team for the loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Vishal Slaria was the highest scorer with 47 runs in just 32 balls including six boundaries and two sixes, while, Rishi and Akshay also made 37 and 21 runs respectively.
For MGCA side, Surya was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 3 wickets by conceiving just 14 runs in his 4 overs spell, while Ajay scalped 2 wickets.
In the second inning, MGCA tried their level best to win the match, but failed and bundled out at 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Pushpinder chipped in 28 runs, while Mohit contributed 27 runs.
For KCC side, Rahul was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets in his 4 overs spell.
The matches were officiated by KV Singh and Ram as umpires, while, Kamlesh Singh maintained the scoreboard.
