JAMMU, Aug 25: Rakesh Kumar from Jammu and Kashmir UT delivered an outstanding performance at the Senior National (Equipped & Unequipped) Powerlifting and National Unequipped Benchpress Championship 2025, held in Jamshedpur, organized by the Indian Powerlifting Federation (IPF).
Competing against top lifters from across the country, Rakesh showcased exceptional strength and determination, clinching two Gold medals and one Bronze medal across different categories.
His remarkable achievement drew praise from Rajinder Singh Tara, Controller of Legal Metrology Department, Manoj Prabhakar, Deputy Controller (Consumer Protection and Enforcement) and Shakti Bushan, Accounts Officer, who commended his dedication and national-level success.
Rakesh’s victory not only brings pride to the Union Territory but also highlights the rising talent and growing interest in powerlifting among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
