JAMMU, June 23: Magnificent 63 runs off 26 runs by Rakesh Kumar and four wickets haul by Sham Singh Langeh helped Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor to register 67 runs win over Vijayanta Club Akhnoor and to seal berth in the semifinal of the ongoing 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tourney, being organized by Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor and AYC Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Akhnoor, here.
Batting first, Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor made 198 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Rakesh Kumar played a splendid inning of 63 runs in 26 balls with six balls over the fence and three towards the boundary. Chandan Sharma scored 37 runs off 22 balls including one six and two boundaries, Sonu made 35 runs including three sixes, Sny and Kanav chipped in 14 runs each.
From Vijayanta Club Akhnoor side, Amit Singh scalped 2 wickets, while Pankaj and Jagdish took one wicket each.
In the second inning, Vijayanta Club Akhnoor failed to chase the target and bundled out at 131 runs for all out in 15.2 overs. Amit was the top scorer with 28 runs including four boundaries and one six, while Govil made 26 runs including five balls towards the fence and Chander Kiran made 17 runs.
From Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor side, Sham Singh Langeh was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, while Sahil took 3 wickets. Sunil, Sourav and Chandan scalped 1 wicket apiece.
Rakesh Kumar and Sham Singh Langeh were jointly adjudged as Man of the Match.
On the occasion, Ankush Sharma, Senior AYC Leader was the chief guest, who awarded the Man of the Match in presence of Naresh Dutt, AYC President Akhnoor and Aman Gupta, Ex-President AYC Akhnoor.
The match was officiated by Joginder Magotra and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Ashu maintained the scorecard.
