RAJOURI, Nov 23: In an exciting contest at the Boys Higher Secondary School ground, here today, Rajouri Administration XI emerged victorious over CEO XI in the ongoing Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa Memorial District-Level Cricket Tournament. Organized under the supervision of Principal Muslim Wani, the tournament has drawn enthusiastic participation from teams across all educational zones of the district.
After winning the toss, Rajouri Administration XI chose to bowl first. CEO XI set a competitive target of 140 runs in 12 overs, but Administration XI chased it down efficiently in just 10 overs. Dr. Gopal Sharma was named Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 66 runs that led his team to victory.
The event was graced by chief guest Prof. Saleem Wani, who highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, confidence, and youth engagement. Appreciation was also extended to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, for funding improvements to the school ground, creating an excellent sports venue.
District officials including DIO Ashiq Rafiq Malik, ACD Auqil Naveed and CAO GMC Ashraf Haqla praised the organizers for promoting sports culture and providing constructive opportunities for young talent across the district.
