Rainawari Club, New Challenger Club outplay rivals, qualify for next round

JAMMU, June 28: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) and New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) outplayed rivals and qualified for the next round of the ongoing Summer Cup Akhnoor T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Akhnoor today.
The first match of the day was played between Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence (YSCE) and Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC), in which latter registered win by 68 runs and sailed into next stage of the tournament.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, RCC scored 168 runs for all out in 17.5 overs. Vivek scored 44 runs off 27 balls, whereas Samad made 36 runs off 20 balls and Sahil contributed with 26 runs.
From YSCE side, Ankit was wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets, whereas Manish took 2 wickets. Shashi, Udey and Anshuman claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, YSCE was bundled out at 100 runs for all out in 17.2 overs. Shashi was the top scorer with 35 runs, whileas Rashiv made 22 runs and Anshuman scored 12 runs.
From RCC side, Aman was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, whileas Vicky scalped 2 wickets. Puneet and Sahil shared one wicket each.
Aman of RCC was adjudged as man of the match.
In second match played between New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) and Nagrota Cricket Club (NCC), former registered win by 6 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, NCC scored 150 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul scored 36 runs, Niju made 26 runs and Rajinder contributed with 18 runs.
From NCCC side, Deepak Manhas and Sahil Bhalwal scalped 2 wickets each, whereas Ram Dayal and Somay Jain took one wicket apiece
In second inning, NCCC chased the target in 15.2 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Ashu played a magnificent inning of 71 runs off 50 balls, whereas Harsh scored 44 runs in 18 balls. Ram Dayal and Vimarsh scored 12 runs each.
For NCC side, Kaka, Madam and Jugnu scalped one wicket apiece.
Ashu of NCCC was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vikas Bali, Dayal Singh, Rajinder Sharma and Deepak Mangotra as umpires, whileas the scorecards were maintained by Ajay Bhagat and Shanky.
