JAMMU, Dec 12: Kartikeya Puri and Puneesh Puri delivered outstanding performances at the 63rd National Roller Skating Championship 2025, held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh from December 5 to 15, bringing glory to Jammu & Kashmir.
Senior athlete Kartikeya Puri clinched a Gold Medal in the 3000m Road Race, dominating the competition, while Saamrjot Singh (J&K) secured silver and Daikin Mittal (Punjab) took bronze. Kartikeya also earned a Bronze Medal in the highly competitive 500+D Rink Race, showcasing his consistency, explosive speed, and disciplined training.
The younger sensation, Puneesh Puri, making a transition from quads to inline skating in January, stunned the national stage with exceptional stamina, skill, and racing intelligence. Puneesh won two Gold Medals—in the 5km Point-to-Point Rink Race and the 3000m Road Race—emerging as India’s new inline national champion. A former sub-junior quads national champion, Puneesh’s rapid adaptation to the inline category demonstrates extraordinary dedication and perseverance.
The achievements of Kartikeya and Puneesh Puri have once again brought immense pride to Jammu & Kashmir, inspiring young athletes across the region. Their performances highlight the importance of discipline, resilience, and relentless hard work.
The Championship witnessed participation from over 4,000 athletes from across India and was organized by the Roller Skating Federation of India and hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Roller Skating Association.
