Puraani Poonch Tigers enter QFs in Police Martyrs T20 Tourney

POONCH, Apr 14: In the ongoing Police Martyrs T20 Cricket League organized by District Police Poonch in the memory of brave martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir, today the Puraani Poonch Tigers’ team won the pre- quarterfinal match, defeating District Police Poonch by 5 runs at Degree College ground, here.
Batting 1st, the PPT team set a target of 149 runs before the District Police Poonch but the chasing team lost all wickets at 144 runs .
The match was inaugurated by Dr Shazad Malik, Vice Chancellor Sai Nath University as the chief guest.
Over 64 teams and 700 youth from far flung villages of Rajouri and poonch districts are participating in the Tournament.
While interacting with the players, senior police officers and others, the VC lauded the district SSP JS Johar for organizing this event which, he said will not only help to highlight the talent of over 700 youth from remote villages but also called it a righteous way to pay homage to the martyrs of the police.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, DySP Headquarter, Poonch presented vote of thanks and informed that the Poonch Police will continue to organize such sports activities in the district.
Prominent among others who witnessed the match included Masroor Mir, Additional Superintendent of Police, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and DySPs.
