Punjab wrestler Abdul Gani lifts 3rd Rustam-e-Chanderkote title

KATRA, May 25: 3rd Annual Rustam-e-Chanderkote historic and mega wrestling was organized by Chanderkote Dangal Committee in collaboration with Rashtriya Riffles and J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association held at Chanderkote today.
The event was held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and president Chanderkote Dangal Committee, Majad Ali.
31 bouts were played in the one day long Vishal Dangal wherein wrestlers from Delhi, Harayana, Punjab and J&K participated.
The first main bout was fought between wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallakotla in Punjab and wrestler Mohani of Harayana, which was won by Gani, who was awarded a cash prize of Rs 31,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta, while the runners-up wrestler Mohani got Rs 20,000 as cash prize. The prizes were given by MLA Neelam Kumar, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Brigadier K P Singh, SSP Randeep Kumar and Majad Ali.
