Punjab team lifts 1st Sher-e-Kashmir Volleyball Trophy

BANIHAL, Sept 9: Punjab team won the 1st Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial Day and Night Volleyball Tournament played at Khari Tehsil Headquarter in Banihal and lifted the trophy as also cash prize of Rs 50,000.
The final match was played in commemoration of the 35th death anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah late last evening, which was witnessed by thousands of people of the peripheral villages.
Several reputed teams from Punjab, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir took part  in the event.
Complimenting the participating teams and the winners and runners-up teams, District National Conference President, Sajjad Shaheen said that this will be annual feature to promote Volleyball alongside other sports in the district.
He lauded the Block NC Committee Khari for making elaborate arrangements for the tournament.
