JAMMU, Jan 30: Talented Shubham Singh Pundhir delivered a sensational innings of 165 runs off 311 balls, guiding Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) to a dominant position over Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy encounter at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Himachal Pradesh. Pundhir’s knock, studded with 19 fours and a six, was the cornerstone of J&K’s strong batting performance.
The innings was ably supported by Abdul Samad (61 off 82 balls, 3×4, 1×6), Kanhaiya Wadhawan (56 off 51 balls) and skipper Paras Dogra (52 off 83 balls, 7×4, 1×6), ensuring that the team maintained a commanding position. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh was restricted to 168 runs in 60.1 overs after being asked to bat, thanks to a brilliant bowling spell from left-arm seamer Sunil Kumar, who took 5 wickets for 55 runs in 18.1 overs. Support came from medium-pacer Aquib Nabi (2/31), off-spinner Sahil Lotra (2/44), and Yudhvir Singh (1/28), who cleaned up the tail. The J&K Cricket Association also praised the team’s performance.
