Lt Thakur Dass Memorial Tournament

JAMMU, Dec 20: Pt Prem Nath Dogra Club defeated Hills View Cricket Club Rajouri by six wickets in the ongoing Shaheed Lt Thakur Dass Memorials Cricket Tournament, being played at GHSS Akhnoor, here today.
Batting first Hills Views CC scored 152 runs with the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Manjeet Singh made 40 runs while Sidharth made 24 runs and Shashi scored 28 runs. From bowling side, Nakul and Harmaan shared three wickets each while Jatinder got two wickets and Kanehiya took one wicket.
In reply, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Cricket Club Akhnoor chased the target in 17.1 overs by losing only four wickets. Arya Thakur made 77 runs, while Kanehiya made 20 runs and Harish remained not out on 28. The man of the match award was awarded to Arya Thakur for his excellent performance.
Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali were the umpires of the match while Rohit & Arjun were scorers.
Earlier, Rajeev Sharma (Ex- MLA Akhnoor) declared the tournament opened as chief guest while DK Kapoor (president Akhnoor Sports Club) was guest of honour.
Sunita Sharma (Vice-Principal GHSS Akhnoor), Surinder Khajuria (secretary Akhnoor Club), Vishnu Kant Sharma (chairman of the tournament), Surinder Sharma (President Municipal Committee Akhnoor), Karan Singh (councillor), Dr Romesh Kashyap, Krishan Kumar, Nav Ratan, Deepak Mani, Dalbir Singh, D N Abrol, Dr Gafur and many others present during opening ceremony.
The tournament is being organized by Akhnoor Sports Club under the overall supervision Kr SS Langeh (Gen Secy JKCA Jammu).
