JAMMU, Aug 2: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu, hosted a vibrant Food Fest cum International Folk Dance Competition – EUPHORIA in its auditorium, celebrating global cultures through music, dance and cuisine.
Dr. Surbhi Gupta, a 1999 alumna and ophthalmologist, was the chief guest. The event was judged by Dr. Suvidha Khanna, Prof. Sarika Manhas and Prof. Komal Nagar, all from the University of Jammu.
Students from Classes IX to XII represented countries like Ireland, Australia, Thailand, Canada, Philippines, New Zealand, UK and US through traditional dances and food. The event showcased everything from Irish jigs and Filipino moves to Thai cuisine and Canadian flavours, promoting cultural exchange and appreciation.
In the dance competition, Thailand (Group 5 – Class XII), New Zealand (X B) and Canada (IX C) won first prizes in their respective categories. Group 1 – Ireland bagged the top spot in the Food Fest.
Dr. Gupta praised the students’ enthusiasm and highlighted the importance of such events in shaping global citizens. The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, honoring winners with certificates and trophies.
