RAJOURI, Apr 4: A K Atri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range organized a quiz competition and distributed study material in the remotest area of Poonch district at Govt Higher Secondary School, Lathung here.
Four teams including team A, B, C and D from different educational institutions participated in the competition. Team ‘D’ and team ‘C’ bagged first and second prizes respectively, trophies were also distributed among winners and runner-up teams.
Meanwhile, books, copies, pencils and dictionaries were also distributed among 100 students belonging to the down trodden families of the society.
Mohd Latief Chodhary, Principal Higher Secondary School Lathung was the chief guest on the occasion who while speaking on the occasion urged upon the students to participate in such events with enthusiasm and fervour.
Amit Gupta, Additional SP Poonch while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role of District Police Poonch for organizing such type of events with an aim to channelize the energy of the youth and helping the down trodden sections of the society.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Ajay Sharma, DySP Surankote; Principal GHSS Lathung, Latief Chodhary; Mohd Amin, Sarpanch Lathung; SHO PS Surankote, Mohd Ashraf; Saddar Din, Faqir Mohd and Mohd Azam.
