KISHTWAR, Dec 28: District Police Kishtwar, under the directions of SSP Naresh Singh organized a Powerlifting Championship at District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar as part of its Civic Action Programme (CAP).
Addressing the participants, Addl. SP Kishtwar Pardeep Singh Goria highlighted the police commitment to providing a positive platform for youth to showcase their talents, channel energy constructively and stay away from drugs, social evils, and anti-social activities. He emphasized the role of sports in character building, discipline, and overall personality development.
Momin Dar claimed top positions in the Junior and Senior categories, winning a cash prize of Rs 30,000, while Dawar Javed topped the Sub-Junior category with a cash prize of Rs 5,000, along with trophies, medals and certificates. Other participants were also felicitated for commendable performances.
The event was also witnessed by Addl. SP PC Kishtwar Nisar Khoja, DySP Headquarters Dr Ishan Gupta, DySP PC Kishtwar Sharvan Singh, besides other officers of the Police Department. A huge gathering of spectators was also present, who continuously boosted the morale of the participating powerlifters.
