Police Martyrs’ Memorial Table Tennis Championship gets underway

JAMMU, Oct 21: The first Police Martyrs’ Memorial Table Tennis Championship-2012 organized by J&K Police in collaboration with J&K Table Tennis Association got underway at Indoor Sports Complex, M.A Stadium, here today.
The 3-day tournament is being held in the memory of the Police Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation while fighting with the militancy in the State.
Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Shalinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion who declared the meet open.
Speaking on this occasion he said on this day police has also organized blood donation camp, adding that the Police is hosting such sports event to strength police-public relations.
Those who were present on the occasion included Vijay Kumar DSP(DAR) , Ajay Sharma General secretary J&K table tennis association , Sheetal Gandotra , Satish Gupta , Vicky Mahajan, IP Singh , Satvir Singh , Sunil Sharma and Rajan Sharma .
Results: Sub junior girls: Manvika drubs Sivangi Jamwal by (12-14,11-7,11-2), Bhavya outplays Himani by (11-3,11-4), Ritul beat Shivangi by (11-2,11-1), Archita got better of Yatiksha by (11-2,11-5) and Shreya beat Ankita by (11-3,11-4)
Cadet Boys: Kanit outclassed Arush by (11-2,11-3), Amaan prevailed upon Divyansh by (11-1,11-0), Sharukh toppled Sobit Sharma  by (11-8,11-2), Aman Verma beat Shivam by (11-3,11-4), Manuvrat beat Aryan Sharma  by (11-9,8-11,11-4), Ninvad drubbed Abhay Kaul by (11-6,11-9), Karan Langer beat Rishav by (11-9,11-5), Hitesh beat Ribuv by (11-6,11-3) and Ashank beat Tanaz  by (11-9 11-8).
