KISHTWAR, Mar 17: District Police Kishtwar organized a Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Sports Stadium in Gulabgarh, Paddar under the Civic Action Programme. The event was conducted in tribute to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The tournament was inaugurated by Additional Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Pardeep Singh Gouria, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening police-public relations and encouraging sportsmanship among youth. He also highlighted the role of sports in spreading awareness against drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.
Among those present were SDPO Atholi Vijay Kumar Bhagat, Tehsildar Atholi Vijay Kumar Gupta and SHO Atholi Amrit Katoch, along with other officials, local representatives, and residents.
The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from local teams and was widely appreciated by the community. Such initiatives aim to engage youth in positive activities, discourage substance abuse and honour the sacrifices of martyrs. District Police Kishtwar reaffirmed its commitment to community engagement, unity, and the vision of a drug-free society.
