PG Arts to take on PG Law in summit clash

JAMMU, Jan 29: PG Arts, University of Jammu thrashed Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi by a huge margin of 140 runs in the semifinals and will face PG Law and Sciences in the summit clash of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Tournament, being organized by University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
Earlier, put into bat, PG Arts sailing on marvelous half-centuries by Sunil Sharma (56) and Chander Kiran (53) scored a mammoth total of 220 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Taqdir Singh, Sajad Malik and Shahzad Ali contributed 41, 29 and 20 runs to the total respectively. For GDC Reasi, Pradeep Sharma and Rakesh claimed 2 wickets each, while Kulbhushan bagged one wicket.
In reply, GDC Reasi bundled out for a paltry total of 80 runs in 15.2 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 140 runs. Abhishek and Arjun contributed 26 and 12 runs to the total respectively. Shahzad Ali was the pick of the bowlers for PG Arts, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 21 runs in his 4 overs, while Sunil Dutt bagged 3 wickets. Sukhwinder and Dilawar claimed 2 and one wicket respectively.
The match was officiated by Raman Kumar and Vijay Dogra as umpires, while Manu Khajuria maintained the scorebook.
