PG Arts, GDC Reasi log wins

JAMMU, Jan 24: PG Arts, University of Jammu and Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi registered wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Tournament, being organized by the University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
Earlier, in the first match, PG Arts defeated GDC Kathua by 63 runs. Batting first, PG Arts scored 160 runs, with Sunil Sharma, Taqdeer Singh, Sukhvinder and Rahul Sharma scoring 37, 38, 31 and 28 runs respectively. For GDC Kathua, Arjun Singh bagged 3 wickets and Vikrant two.
GDC Kathua, in reply bundled out for 97 runs in 19.3 over thus lost the match by 63 runs. Arjun Singh (35) and Arun Singh (23) were the main scorers. Sukhvinder was pick of the bowlers for PG Arts, who scalped 4 wickets, while Dilawar Singh, Rajinder Sharma and Kulvinder claimed one wicket apiece.
In another match, GDC Reasi got better of GDC Billawar by 4 wickets. Batting first GDC Billawar scored a modest total of 108 runs. Shewaz Bhatt, Bhanu Partap, Rahul and Muneesh contributed 19, 16, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For GDC Reasi, Rakesh and Kulbhushan claimed 2 wickets each, while Jaswant claimed one.
In reply, GDC Reasi chased the target in 16.4 overs by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Rakesh Kumar was the top scorer with 29 runs, while Abhishek, Ripon and Jitender contributed 23, 16 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For GDC Billawar, Muneesh Kumar bagged 2 wickets, while Rahul Sharma claimed two.
The matches were officiated by Raman Kumar, Vijay Dogra, Saleem-ur-Rehman and Manu Khajuria.
