PATHANKOT, Dec 18: The first day of two-day District-Level Teacher training workshop concluded at Partap World School, Pathankot. Nearly 50 teachers from schools across the district participated, gaining hands-on knowledge and practical strategies for environmental sustainability.
Organised by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) in collaboration with the District Education Department, Pathankot, under the Environment Education Programme and supported by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the workshop focused on building educators’ capacity to foster environmental responsibility.
The first technical session, conducted by Reena Chadha, General Manager, Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), addressed “Trash to Transformation: Reducing Carbon Footprint through Plastic & Solid Waste Management,” providing actionable insights into sustainable waste management. The second session, led by Manoj Lila Bhatt from Eco Roots Foundation, focused on Nest Making, a hands-on activity promoting biodiversity conservation.
The event was graced by Amandeep Singh, Deputy DEO, Pathankot and Sanjeev Sharma, District EEP Coordinator, who highlighted the importance of empowering teachers as agents of change. Sunny Mahajan, Director, Partap World School, Oshin Mahajan, Director and Principal Subhra Rani emphasized the importance of environmental education and its impact on future generations.
