JAMMU, Jan 19: In a remarkable achievement, Pankhuri Malhotra, a Class 7 student of Delhi Public School, Jammu, clinched the first prize in the classical dance competition held at C T University, Jalandhar.
The competition was part of the cultural event “Nach Punjabi Nach”, organized by the Body and Soul Dance Academy, Jalandhar, which saw participation from nearly 150 students from across the country, showcasing exceptional talent in various dance forms. Out of the total participants, 27 performers were shortlisted as Show Stoppers, with Pankhuri being among them.
Owing to her outstanding performance, she was also selected as Brand Ambassador by Shehnaaz Beauty Lounge, adding another feather to her cap. Her exceptional talent, grace and dedication earned her national recognition and highlighted her as one of the most promising young classical dancers of the region.
Another notable performer, Akaira Singh, secured the first position in the Semi-Classical category, while a participant from Udhampur impressed the audience with a Dogri Folk Dance performance, winning prizes in Folk, Semi-Classical and Classical categories. The competition was judged by Shubjeet Kour, renowned dancer and Dance India Dance (DID) winner, who praised the high standard of performances. The event provided a grand platform for young talent and celebrated India’s rich dance traditions.
