Open Kashmir Taekwondo C’ship concludes

BUDGAM, May 26: The Open Kashmir Taekwondo Championship, organized by Al-Jawad Sports Academy Jammu and Kashmir, concluded with great enthusiasm at the Al-Afanan Educational Institute in Malora in Srinagar.
The event witnessed the participation of a large number of players and athletes from various schools across the region, showcasing their talent, discipline, and competitive spirit. The closing ceremony was graced by Farooq Renzo Shah, Chairman of Kashmir Society International, who attended as the chief guest. Several other prominent dignitaries were also present to encourage the participants.
Top-performing athletes were honoured with medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances and dedication.
In his address, Farooq Renzo Shah highlighted the importance of sports in society, stating, “Sports are not just physical activities; they are a powerful means to combat the growing menace of drug addiction among youth and pave the way for a successful and disciplined life.” Certificates were distributed among guests, media personnel, school staff, and students to acknowledge their support and participation.
Chairman of Al-Jawad Sports Academy, Syed Sujaad Shah, also addressed the gathering and encouraged the youth to actively participate in all kinds of sports including cricket, martial arts, and more. He urged them to stay away from drugs and utilize their energy in constructive and healthy pursuits.
