NSG: 37 teams to compete in U-17 Boys Football C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 27: The 68th National School Games U-17 Boys and Girls Football Championship will begin on November 30, at Sainik School Nagrota and Khelgaon Nagrota. Over 700 athletes and officials from 37 teams across India will participate in the prestigious event.
Teams from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and other states, as well as various educational bodies like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Sanghathan, have registered for the championship.
To ensure smooth preparations, Director General of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Rajinder Singh Tara, visited both venues along with senior officials. He inspected the ongoing construction of a synthetic athletic track at Khelgaon and was briefed on its progress. The DG also received updates on the football grounds and other event requirements from technical officials.
Tara emphasized the importance of completing all arrangements promptly and efficiently to guarantee a successful event. The championship is expected to provide young footballers with a national platform to showcase their skills and contribute to the development of the sport in India.
