NSD celebrations culminate with cycling rally in Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 31: The three-day National Sports Day (NSD) celebrations culminated today with a vibrant cycling rally at KK Hakku Stadium, Jammu, showcasing the spirit of fitness and unity through sport.
Over 150 cyclists took part in the rally, including athletes and coaches from the Sports Authority of India (SAI), J&K Sports Council (JKSC), J&K Cycling Association and CRPF jawans. Participants first paid rich tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand at his memoir in the stadium.
The rally was flagged off by Anissa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer (JKSC), who was the chief guest, while Mohan Shyam, Assistant Commandant, 76 Battalion CRPF, attended as guest of honour. Aman Sharma, High Performance Director (SAI), along with senior office bearers of the J&K Cycling Association and CRPF officials, were also present.
Prominent officials included Ravinder Singh (Chairman, CAJK), Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn (President), Balwinder Singh Goldy (Vice President), OP Sharma (General Secretary), S.S. Gill (Chief Coordinator), Ravi Salgotra (CEO) and Tajinder Singh (Treasurer).
The cyclists rode through key roads of Jammu city before returning to the stadium, where the event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem and refreshments for participants.
Simultaneous rallies were also held in Udhampur and Budgam, led by Rajesh Sharma, Joint Secretary (CAJK Jammu), and Mohd Akbar Khan, Joint Secretary (CAJK Kashmir), respectively.
