NHPC signs MoU with NSDF, SAI to empower young weightlifters

JAMMU, June 16: For providing support for the training of young weightlifting talent (aged 9-13) across 30 States/ UTs in the country, NHPC signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), here today.
The major CSR initiative under “Shakti Saadhana – Empowering Weightlifters for Sporting Brilliance” was taken in the presence of Uttam Lal, director (Personnel), NHPC.
The programme will include residential training, professional coaching, physiotherapy and other necessary facilities.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Miren Kumar Verma, HoD, CSR & SD Division, NHPC, Kamkhan Singh, Under Secretary, NSDF and Col N S Johal, CEO (TOPS), SAI.
