*TRT Indians to face Homeland Club in Volleyball summit clash

JAMMU, July 7: Navjot Singh’s all-round show went in vain as Challengers XI got the better of Tigers XI in an easy contest by 4 wickets, while TRT Indians will lock horns with Homeland XI in title clash of Volleyball tournament and Zyeshta Devi FC sealed berth in the finals of the Football tournament of the ongoing PK’s Annual Sports Extravaganza at Jagti, near here today.
Meanwhile, in Badminton, the duo of Tapish Anthal and Depak Kachroo and the pair of Shubham Dhar and Mayank Razdan emerged victorious over their rivals.
The event is being organised by the frontline organisation of Kashmiri Pandits- Panun Kashmir with an objective to help youth get rid of fear and tension caused by the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, besides helping them hone their sporting skill.
Earlier, in Cricket, winning the toss and batting first, Tigers XI set a modest total of 128 runs in 17.2 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Navjot Singh was the lone batsman to show application, grit and guts and scored well made 37 runs, studded with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Rohit was the pick of the bowlers for Challengers XI, scalping 3 important wickets by conceding 12 runs in his 4 overs, while Satyam Wattal bagged 2 wickets by giving away 19 runs in his 3.3 overs.
In reply, Challengers XI sailed on magnificent batting display by Sagar Tickoo and Nilesh to chase the target easily in 16.1 ovvers, losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Sagar top scored with 39 off 27 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Nilesh contributed 26 off 24 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. For Tigers XI, Navjot Singh captured 3 wickets by conceding 11 runs in his 4 overs.
Meanwhile, in Football, Zyeshta Devi FC thrashed Jagti FC by nine goals to two (9-2) in the last four stage to storm into the finals, while in semifinals of the Volleyball tournament, TRT Indians defeated Jagti Spartans and Homeland XI prevailed over Warriors XI.
In the Badminton tournament which got underway here today, the pair of Tapish Anthal and Deepak Kachroo trounced the duo of Rajveer Jamwal and Sparash Raina in two straight sets by 21-13, 23-21, while in another doubles match, the pair of Shubham Dhar and Vivek Razdan prevailed over Karan Koul and Kartik Koul (2-1)by 21-17, 18-21, 21-15.
The Football match was officiated by Praduman, Abhay Bhat, Vishal and Rahul, while the Cricket matchest were officiated by Vijay Raina, Yogesh and Sandeep.
