National junior chess tourney begins in Patna

Patna, Sept 3:
The 47th national junior boys chess championship and 32nd national junior girls chess championship began at Patliputra sports complex here today.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman V K Saxena jointly inaugurated the championship by making one move each on a chess board.
Convener of the event Naveen Upadhayay welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude to Khadi India for sponsoring the event.
A total of 196 players from 26 states are participating in the championship which would come to an end on September 11, Upadhyay said.(PTI)
