JAMMU, Dec 15: Rising J&K star Ridhima Rajput delivered a stellar all-round performance in the U-19 Women’s One-Day Tournament at GCRG Cricket Ground, claiming a five-wicket haul and contributing 15 crucial runs down the order. Despite her efforts, J&K fell 33 runs short, finishing at 189/9 while chasing Mumbai’s 222/6.
Electing to bowl, J&K struck early, but Mumbai recovered with Jeeya Mandrawadkar scoring 50, supported by Ira Jadhav (41) and captain Dhruvi Trivedi (39). Ridhima’s 5/32 in 10 overs highlighted her skill, with Bhagya Lakshmi Jamwal picking one wicket.
During the chase, Kayinat Bakshi and Aleeza Jan forged a 39-run opening stand. Kayinat (39) and Mehak Rukwal (36) battled hard, aided by Mahika Singh Rana (18) and Janvi Rajput (18*), but Mumbai bowlers, led by Mandrawadkar and Ritika Yadav (3 wickets each), secured the win. Ridhima’s performance remains a bright spot for J&K.
