JAMMU, May 2: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone-Akhnoor, organized the Inter-School Zonal Level Sports Competitions at GHSS Sohal and Indoor Stadium Akhnoor.
MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal, graced the event as the chief guest. An alumnus of GHSS Sohal, he inspired the participants with a motivational address, quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and emphasizing the importance of vision, perseverance, and the power of dreams. “It doesn’t matter where you come from; what matters is where you are going,” he said.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 450 students from government and private schools in the under-14 and under-17 Kho-Kho competitions for both boys and girls. These competitions aim to identify promising talent for the upcoming Inter-Zonal District Level Tournaments.
Principal of GHSS Sohal, Sushma Thakur, welcomed all dignitaries and participants, encouraging students to pursue sports with discipline and passion. ZPEO Ashok Kumar appreciated the efforts of the staff and encouraged students to stay engaged in sports for their overall development.
