JAMMU, Dec 19: The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu, achieved a remarkable milestone as its student team “Instant Ideators” won the First Prize at the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025, held in Chennai and organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell. The team, the only podium finisher from Jammu & Kashmir, was awarded a cash prize of Rs 75,000 for their innovative solution in the problem domain of neurological healthcare.
The winning project, “SAMARTH – Pioneering the Future of Neurological Healthcare”, is a low-cost hybrid AI-based neurological screening system designed for rapid, non-invasive detection of disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Epilepsy, suitable for use in rural and resource-limited areas. The team was led by Vansh Bargotra and included Prachi Sharma, Karishma Wanchoo, Sushean Sharma, Vritti Sharma and Priyanka Jaitley from the CSE and ECE departments.
Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, guided the team throughout, while Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson, MIER Group lauded them on their national-level achievement. The participation was coordinated by Saurabh Sharma, Assistant Professor, CSE Department.
