MIER Cricket Club thrashes Johal CC by 115 runs

JAMMU, Jan 13: MIER Cricket Club registered a commanding 115-run victory over Johal Cricket Club in the Rajinder Saini & Sandeep Singh Memorial Under-16 (T-30) Cricket Tournament, being played at Parade Ground, Jammu. The match was organised under the aegis of Laxmi Cricket Club.
After winning the toss, MIER Cricket Club elected to bat first and posted a strong total of 209 runs, getting all out in 29.1 overs. Manveer Singh emerged as the top scorer with a well-crafted 43 runs, which included one six and six boundaries. He was well supported by Swaransh, who smashed 42 runs with the help of six boundaries, while Shivansh contributed a valuable 28 runs, hitting four boundaries. From Johal Cricket Club, Rehal Singh delivered an impressive spell, claiming four wickets for just 10 runs, while Pranav also picked up four wickets, conceding 26 runs.
Chasing a stiff target, Johal Cricket Club failed to build partnerships and were bowled out for 94 runs in 17.5 overs. Mohd. Ayam was the top scorer with 20 runs. For MIER, Mohit starred with the ball, taking three wickets for 18 runs and was rightly adjudged the Player of the Match. Shivansh and Sam chipped in with two wickets each.
The tournament officials informed that the first quarterfinal will be played tomorrow between Youth Cricket Club and Janta Cricket Club.
