MIER College organises orientation session

JAMMU, Mar 11: The Placement Committee of MIER College of Education organised an orientation session on the NET/JRF examination under the College to Career Programme for students of School of Education Semester IV and M.A. Political Science and M.A. Psychology Semester IV of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The session aimed to provide students with essential information about the NET/SET examinations, including the exam pattern, syllabus, preparation strategies and important dates. The programme began with a welcome address and introduction of the resource person by Jyoti Sharma, Convener of the Placement Committee.
Deepali Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Government College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu, served as the resource person. She highlighted the importance of NET/SET for careers in higher education and research, explaining eligibility criteria, examination scheme, UGC regulations for 2026, cut-off trends and a preparation plan for Paper I and Paper II.
The event was attended by Head, SOE Prof. Nishta Rana; Head SSSH Prof. Monika Bajaj; Deputy Head of SOE, Prof. Bharti Tandon; Deputy Head of SSSH, Arpana Koul; staff members of both the schools, IQAC Team and more than 70 students.
The programme concluded with an interactive session. Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal, appreciated the Placement Committee for organising the informative session for students. At the end, a formal vote of thanks was extended by Upasna Mohten, member Placement Committee.
