JAMMU, Apr 8: MIER College of Education, through its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully conducted a workshop on Teaching Methodologies for faculty of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Education.
The programme began with a welcome address by Jasleen Mohial, IQAC Coordinator, who highlighted the growing need for innovative, learner-centered pedagogies in higher education.
Sessions were conducted by eminent faculty experts covering Cooperative Learning, Team Teaching, Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom approaches. Prof. Nishta Rana elaborated on Cooperative Learning strategies such as think-pair-share and jigsaw, emphasizing collaboration and peer engagement. Prof. Bharti Tandon discussed Team Teaching models, focusing on planning, coordination, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Prof. Mool Raj highlighted Blended and Flipped Classroom methods, illustrating their relevance in active, technology-integrated learning.
A hands-on lesson plan design activity engaged participants in applying these methodologies. Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal, appreciated the initiative and encouraged faculty to integrate contemporary approaches. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohial.
