JAMMU, Apr 30: The Placement Committee of MIER College of Education organised an awareness programme titled “From College to UPSC/JKAS: How to Begin Early and Stay Ahead” for Semester IV students of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSSH) and the School of Education (SOE). Over 100 students actively participated in the event.
Dinesh Choudhary, Director of Kartavya IAS Academy, was the resource person. He shared valuable insights into the structure and stages of UPSC and JKAS exams, including Prelims, Mains and Interview. Emphasising early preparation, he advised students to develop a strong base in General Studies, stay updated with current affairs and hone their reading and writing skills. He also guided them on choosing the right optional subject, time management, and staying motivated.
The session began with a formal welcome and introduction by Dr. Sahil Bhagat, Assistant Professor. Faculty members including Prof. Nishta Rana, Dr. Monika Bajaj, and Dr. Bharti Tandon were present.
Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal of MIER College, praised the initiative and underlined the importance of career counselling in shaping student futures.
Jyoti Sharma, Convener of the Placement Committee, delivered the vote of thanks, and student Sarika Anthal efficiently compered the programme.
