JAMMU, Dec 17: The Alumni Committee of MIER College of Education organised a guest lecture on “Foundations of Counselling Psychology: Counselling Process, Skills and Ethical Considerations” at the H L Gupta Auditorium. The programme was attended by students of BA Honours Psychology and MA Psychology, along with faculty members.
The session was conducted by Dr Sarita Sood, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Jammu and an alumna of the 2001 B.Ed. batch of MIER College. She shared valuable academic and practical insights into the counselling process, essential counselling skills, and ethical considerations, in line with the prescribed curriculum.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr Monika Bajaj, Head of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. An interactive question-answer session followed, encouraging active student participation. Professor Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, appreciated Dr. Sood’s contribution and presented her with a certificate. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Arpana Koul, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and alumni engagement.
