JAMMU, Apr 27: Sailing on superb performances by Rohit Sharma, Fahim Tak and Lekhraj, Media XI got better of Aircel XI by 6 wickets in a friendly match at KC Sports Club ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Aircel XI scored a modest total of 114 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Anuj scored 27 runs off 28 balls, while Manmeet contributed 25 runs off 35 balls. For Media XI, Rohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 19 runs in his 4 overs, while Ashu, Sunil and Syed claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Media XI chased the target easily in 12 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Fahim top scored with 21 runs, while Lekhraj and Sohan contributed 13 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For Aircel XI, Dilip, Bindu and Anuj Gupta claimed one wicket each. Rohit Sharma was adjudged man of the match and best bowler, while Fahim Tak and Lekhraj were declared as best bowler and best fielder respectively.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Rajinder Singh.
