MCAI launched with Ashok Malhotra as Patron

JAMMU, Oct 6: The Masters Cricket Association of India (MCAI), a new national body aimed at promoting veteran cricket, has been officially launched under the patronage of former India Test cricketer and ex-President of the Indian Cricketers’ Association, Ashok Malhotra.
As per handout issued, the MCAI aims to support the Prime Minister’s vision of a healthy and fit India by encouraging former cricketers to maintain active lifestyles.
Ashok Malhotra said the initiative would “bring together India’s veteran cricketers to celebrate the sport, share experiences and contribute towards a healthier and more united cricketing community.”
The MCAI will organize Masters-level tournaments at state, national and international levels. It will also host cricket carnivals, exchange programs and promote cricket without entry fees to ensure inclusivity.
The Masters Cricket Association of India (MCAI) is led by Chief Patron Ashok Malhotra, former India Test cricketer. Haseeb Ur Rehman (DIG) serves as Honorary President, with Hilal Rather (sports promoter, J&K) as Chairman. Farooq Amin, CEO of Kanwal Foods & Spices, is Director for J&K. Ashish Singh is the General Secretary and Sudhir Singh is the Treasurer. Trustees include Vivek Sharma and Avinash Uttam. Founder Members are Rajesh Gill (J&K), Ratan Sharma (Mumbai), and Biju Nair (Kerala). The Executive Members are Madan Kumar and Sunny Gill.
